Students’ metacognitive skills in solving word problem

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
Abstract Problem solving is the primary purpose of the mathematics curriculum. Metacognitive skills play an important role in problem solving. Solving mathematics word problem is a part of the problem solving. Students need appropriate steps and strategies to solve word problems and, in many cases, each student uses different strategy in

Dual‐Interface‐Dominant Cathode Architectures Enabling Fast Sulfur Redox and Stable Interfaces in All‐Solid‐State Li‐S Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An optimized carbon host nanostructure enables a dual‐interface‐dominant architecture in sulfur cathodes of solid‐state Li‐S batteries by selectively forming sulfur|carbon and sulfur|solid electrolyte interfaces. This tailored interfacial configuration accelerates sulfur redox kinetics by establishing enriched Li+/e– transport networks, while ...

Students’ motivation as a mediator between extra-mathematical knowledge and word problem-solving

open access: yesDiscover Education
Word problems are frequently taught in shallow contexts, where students primarily use procedural knowledge to solve problems and struggle to transfer their learning to real-life situations.

Cell Calcification Models and Their Implications for Medicine and Biomaterial Research

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Calcification, is the process by which the tissues containing minerals are formed, occurring during normal physiological processes, or in pathological conditions. Here, it is aimed to give a comprehensive overview of the range of cell models available, and the approaches taken by these models, highlighting when and how methodological divergences arise,

Mathematical problem solving is modulated by word priming

open access: yesPsyCh Journal
AbstractThis study aimed to explore the influence of word priming on mathematical problem solving. In two experiments, participants were required to finish multiplication estimation tasks with a specified estimation strategy under different word priming conditions (Experiment 1: concrete words vs. Experiment 2: abstract words). The results showed that:
