Wordnet-LMF

Proceedings of the 2009 international workshop on Intercultural collaboration, 2009
In this paper we present Wordnet-LMF, a dialect of ISO Lexical Markup Framework that instantiates LMF for representing wordnets. Wordnet-LMF was developed in the framework of the EU KYOTO project for the specific purpose of endowing a set of wordnets with a standardized interoperability format allowing the interchange of lexicosemantic information ...

Wordnet-LMF: A Standard Representation for Multilingual Wordnets

2013
Wordnet-lexical markup framework (LMF) is an instantiation of LMF for representing Wordnet-like semantic dictionaries. Wordnet is a widely accepted resource and thus provides a good case for testing the viability of a representation in LMF and the acceptance by a wide range of users.

Combining and learning word embedding with WordNet for semantic relatedness and similarity measurement

J. Assoc. Inf. Sci. Technol., 2019
In this research, we propose 3 different approaches to measure the semantic relatedness between 2 words: (i) boost the performance of GloVe word embedding model via removing or transforming abnormal dimensions; (ii) linearly combine the information ...

Modern WordNet: An Affective Extension of WordNet

2020
Semantic similarity and definition of words are very crucial part of the data. Therefore there are various online dictionaries and thesauri available on the web. But wordnet is the most famous online lexical system. It is an ontology-based system which organizes english nouns, verbs, and adjectives into synonym sets, each representing one underlying ...

Challenges for a multilingual wordnet

Language Resources and Evaluation, 2012
Wordnets have been created in many languages, revealing both their lexical commonalities and diversity. The next challenge is to make multilingual wordnets fully interoperable. The EuroWordNet experience revealed the shortcomings of an interlingua based on a natural language.

Sentence Semantic Similarity based on Word Embedding and WordNet

International Conference on Communication and Electronics Systems, 2018
Semantic similarity between sentences is a crucial task for many applications. The emerging of word embedding encourages calculating similarity between words and between sentences based on the new semantic word representation.

WordNet then and now

Language Resources and Evaluation, 2007
We briefly discuss the origin and development of WordNet, a large lexical database for English. We outline its design and contents as well as its usefulness for Natural Language Processing. Finally, we discuss crosslinguistic WordNets and complementary lexical resources.

Enhancing Arabic WordNet with the use of Princeton WordNet and a bilingual dictionary

2014 Third IEEE International Colloquium in Information Science and Technology (CIST), 2014
This paper describes an heuristic-based approach to enhance existing WordNets with freely available bilingual resources. The approach has been applied to the Arabic WordNet using the AraMorph bilingual dictionary as bilingual resource, but its guidelines are quite general to be effectively applied to other languages.
