The Nature of Haptic Working Memory Capacity and Its Relation to Visual Working Memory
Multisensory Research, 2020Abstract I conducted three experiments to investigate haptic working memory capacity using a haptic change detection task with 2D stimuli. I adopted a single-task paradigm comprising haptic single-feature (orientation or texture) and haptic multifeature (orientation and texture) conditions in Experiment 1 and a dual-task paradigm with

Working memory capacity and suppression of intrusive thoughts
Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry, 2005We sought to show that individual differences in working memory capacity are related to the ability to intentionally suppress personally relevant intrusive thoughts, and that this effect cannot be explained by differences in negative mood. Sixty participants identified their most frequent intrusive thought and then completed a thought suppression task.

The Role of Basic Memory Capacities and Working Memory
2014The review on research on basic memory capacities and working memory presented in this chapter indicates that the area has been very active since the early 1980s. On the one hand, this is certainly related to the fact that theoretical models such as those developed by Baddeley, Case, Cowan, and Pascual-Leone have attracted a lot of attention and have ...

Working Memory Capacity: An Individual Differences Approach
1988Abstract : Five experiments are described that study the relationship between measures of working memory and reading comprehension. Two experiments investigated whether the complex span measure must be similar to the reading comprehension task to be predictive of comprehension. The correlation found between reading comprehension and two reading-related
