Abstract A structure of a novel complex anion [WO(O2)2(C2O4)WO(O2)2]2− which was obtained from the reaction of H2O2 with WC was determined by an X-ray diffraction method. The final R-value was 0.084. This is the first example of the anion containing both C2O4 and O2 groups isolated from this reaction. In this anion one C2O42− coordinates

Study and comparison of two novel laser crystals Dy:NaGd(WO 4 ) 2 ,Dy:NaLa(WO 4 ) 2

Absorption spectra and Raman spectra of Dy:NaGd(WO 4 ) 2 (Dy:NGW) and Dy:NaLa(WO 4 ) 2 (Dy:NLW) crystal at room temperature are investigated. Although the structure of them are similar, there is a bit discrepancy between Dy:NGW and Dy:NLW of the set of spectra corresponding to the radius of Nd 3+ , La 3+ and Gd 3+ .

Q-switched laser operation of Yb-doped NaGd(WO 4 ) 2 and NaY(WO 4 ) 2 crystals

The tetragonal double tungstates NaGd(WO4)2 and NaY(WO4)2 are uniaxial crystals which can be grown from the melt by the Czochralski method and exhibit disordered crystalline structure. The structural disorder leads to additional inhomogeneous broadening of the spectral features of the doping rare-earth ions.
