Mechanics of Woven Fabrics

Textile Research Journal, 1993
Extensive coverage of previous work in the area of weavability limit theories, their experimental validation, and their practical importance is reviewed. The review also includes previous work on maximum construction relationships derived empirically, as well as a comparison of different theories and empirical studies.

Buckling of Woven Fabrics

Textile Research Journal, 1990
The effect of fabric weight is incorporated into a theoretical model based on Gros berg's frictional couple theory for describing the buckling behavior of woven fabrics. Numerical solutions for fabric models with free- and fixed-end conditions are studied using various combinations of weight and friction couple factors.

IDSS: A Novel Representation for Woven Fabrics

IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, 2013
The appearance of woven fabrics is intrinsically determined by the geometric details of their meso/micro scale structure. In this paper, we propose a multiscale representation and tessellation approach for woven fabrics. We extend the Displaced Subdivision Surface (DSS) to a representation named Interlaced/Intertwisted Displacement Subdivision Surface (

Mechanics of Woven Fabrics

Textile Research Journal, 1995
Properties of fabrics woven from regular warp yarns and filling yarns with periodic mass variation are studied in terms of weavability limit parameters. Four variables are varied systematically and their relationships with fabric properties investigated.

The Mechanical Properties of Woven Fabrics Part II: The Bending of Woven Fabrics

Textile Research Journal, 1966
The plate buckling of woven fabrics is analyzed in terms of the known non-linear bending behavior of such fabrics.

WOVEN COMPOSITE FABRIC

2001
As subject of the present invention, a woven composite fabric, comprising metal elements (51) and polymer elements (52) is provided. The metal elements (51) being metal wires, bundles of metal wires, metal strands or metal cords. According to the invention, the polymer elements (52) are polymer tapes, having a substantially rectangular cross-section.
