Positively Charged Polymer‐Brush MOFs for Large‐Area, Pressure‐Resistant Gas Separation Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A universal POPA strategy enables positively charged polymer‐brush MOFs with self‐adaptive interfacial interlocking to resist aggregation under fast processing. This design ensures seamless dispersion within large‐area selective layers, achieving 1 m‐wide roll‐to‐roll fabrication of pressure‐resistant MMCMs with tunable CO2 separation performance ...

Wrinkling in engineering fabrics: a comparison between two different comprehensive modelling approaches [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We consider two ‘comprehensive’ modelling approaches for engineering fabrics. We distinguish the two approaches using the terms ‘semi-discrete’ and ‘continuum’, reflecting their natures.

Electron‐Induced Molecular Programming Drives Interfacial Chemistry for Ah‐Level Zinc Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We establish an electron‐driven molecular programming strategy that converts spontaneous solid electrolyte interphase formation into a bonding‐defined interfacial architecture. Coordinative integration of p‐bromoaniline with ZnF2 forms a dipole‐regulated molecular lock that reconfigures interfacial electrostatics, suppresses parasitic water reactions ...

A Comprehensive Review of Waste‐Derived Materials for Solar Still Performance Enhancement

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Solar desalination reduces energy use and produces freshwater sustainably, but its productivity is limited and cannot meet rising demand. Thus, solar desalination system improvements are sought to boost water productivity. Waste materials are abundantly available and burden the environment, making them low‐cost enhancers for solar desalination

Fabrication Technologies for Soft, Multimaterial Optical Fibers for In Vivo Diagnostics and Phototherapy, With a Focus on Extrusion Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Soft multimaterial optical fibers integrate multiple functionalities—such as waveguiding, side emission, sensing, drug delivery or actuation—into a single filament for wearable, implantable, and tissue‐integrated devices for diagnostics and phototherapy.

Woven fabric composites: Can we peel it?

open access: yesProcedia Structural Integrity, 2016
AbstractThe present work focuses on the applicability of the mandrel peel test to quantify the fracture toughness of woven fabric Carbon/PEEK composites. For this purpose, the mandrel peel test was compared to the standardized DCB test. Unstable crack propagation (stick-slip) was observed in both testing techniques.
