Energy‐efficient resource allocation model for device‐to‐device communication in 5G wireless personal area networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Communication Systems, Volume 36, Issue 13, 10 September 2023., 2023
This paper proposes an energy‐efficient resource allocation algorithm that considers the devices' energy consumption when allocating resources. Here, we use energy‐efficient modulation and coding schemes that consume less energy. Power management mechanisms are used to control the transmit power and minimize energy consumption.

Design and implementation of a wireless CAN module for marine engines using ZigBee protocol

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 17, Issue 13, Page 1541-1552, August 2023., 2023
In this research, a wireless control area network (CAN bus) protocol is designed and implemented for communication between the sensors on a diesel engine and the engine control unit (ECU). The XBee module, which uses the ZigBee (IEEE 802.15.4) technology was used in the design and implementation of the wireless CAN prototype.

A single layer wideband Vivaldi antenna with a novel feed structure

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 17, Issue 7, Page 558-564, June 2023., 2023
A wideband vivaldi antenna that provide stable gain and impedance performance from 55 to 84 GHz is presented in this work. This is the first time a completely planar structure is reported for such an antenna element. Abstract An increase of 7 GHz in the industrial, scientific and medical ISM band around 60 GHz has opened it up for many modern wireless ...

Design of 60 GHz millimeter‐wave SIW antenna for 5G WLAN/WPAN applications

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 17, Issue 8, Page 974-986, May 2023., 2023
In this paper, a single layer H‐plane sectoral horn mmWave antenna is proposed at 60GHz using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology for the future high‐speed short range WPAN and WLAN networks. The benefits of the proposed antenna are high gain, low cost, small size and its ease of integration with other planar circuits.

Water quality monitoring in recirculating aquaculture systems

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 113-131, April 2023., 2023
Abstract Good water quality in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) is crucial for ensuring the successful growth and survival of reared species. So far, there are no regulations for which parameters should be measured in RAS, and each farmer decides which parameters to follow.

L‐RUBI: An efficient load‐based resource utilization algorithm for bi‐partite scatternet in wireless personal area networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Communication Systems, Volume 36, Issue 6, April 2023., 2023
This paper proposes a resource allocation method based on a load of the network. The network's resources are divided into small blocks. Then pass‐key is generated to authorize the user to use it. With this, existing user resources can be used. When excess resources are required, resources are scheduled and transmitted to the user through request. Thus,

Modelling, Performance Analysis and Design of WPAN Systems [PDF]

open access: yesWireless Personal Communications, 2006
This paper covers the main issues that must be solved in order to design and analyse the performance of Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs) with the aid of simulation tools. We review state-of-the-art channel models to account for small- and large-scale propagation conditions in waveform- and system-level simulations.
