AbstractThe distributed hydrologic model WRF‐Hydro can operate in a fully‐coupled mode with the atmospheric Weather, Research and Forecasting (WRF) model. WRF‐Hydro enhances the modeling of terrestrial hydrologic processes in coupled WRF/WRF‐Hydro by simulating lateral surface and subsurface water flows.

We tested the widely used atmospheric WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) model in a coupled mode to the hydrological model WRF-Hydro. The coupled WRF/WRF-Hydro model adds the simulation of horizontal surface and subsurface flow of water relative to the standalone WRF.

The application of WRF model in the wave numerical forecast

Adopting the forecasting wind from WRF model as forcing term of wave model, a nested wave model is built from the Western Pacific to coastal areas of China.
