WRF model - sensitivity experiments to computational environment changes

2018 IEEE Biennial Congress of Argentina (ARGENCON), 2018

Optical turbulence prediction using WRF Model

2019
The optical turbulence forecasting has become a necessary information for an optimal programmation of the astronomical observations, called "flexible scheduling". We propose the prediction of the optical turbulence by means of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model combined with an optical turbulence model.

EMEP4HR: Towards urban scale modelling using WRF and EMEP models

Hrvatski meteorološki časopis, 2008
The goal of the urban scale part of the EMEP4HR project is to study the air quality over Croatian cities, namely Zagreb and Rijeka, at urban scales. Zagreb and Rijeka are two main industrial cities in Croatia so the development of new capability for the assessment of urban air quality in these two cities is very important.

Offshore wind resouce assessment based on WRF model

2013 IEEE PES Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference (APPEEC), 2013
In order to avoid investment risks of offshore wind farms, offshore wind resources is necessary to conduct a detailed assessment. At the current lack of offshore wind resource assessment data and formulas in the sea applicability is not clear, this paper discusses a numerical weather WRF model for offshore wind resource assessment methodology.

Simulations of energy and water balances with WRF and WRF-Hydro models: the role of model coupling and parameterizations

We tested the widely used atmospheric WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) model in a coupled mode to the hydrological model WRF-Hydro. The coupled WRF/WRF-Hydro model adds the simulation of horizontal surface and subsurface flow of water relative to the standalone WRF.

Ecoroof and WRF Model Evaluation for Canadian Climate Model Development

Green roofs can mitigate urban heat, reduce building energy use, reduce stormwater runoff and contribute to biodiversity and urban livability. To effectively evaluate their impact, green roofs must be incorporated into urban climate models, where reliable green roof models provide critical surface boundary conditions for city-scale adaptation ...

WRF-UACM Multilayer Urban Canopy Model Description

The WRF–Urban Asymmetric Convective Model (UACM), developed by Dr. Utkarsh Prakash Bhautmage and colleagues, is a multilayer urban canopy parameterization within the WRF framework designed to improve the representation of urban meteorology, boundary-layer processes, and fog prediction, while remaining computationally efficient compared to more complex ...
