The improved progressive probabilistic hough transform for paper wrinkle detection
2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing, 2012Wrinkles are the typical paper defects that usually appear in paper production. Because wrinkle has line patterns in paper image, it can be detected through Hough Transform (HT) based methods. Among those methods, Standard Hough Transform (SHT) is a robust line detection approach, but the long time computation handicaps its application in real-time ...

Improving interfacial shear strength between graphene sheets by strain-induced wrinkles
Carbon, 2020Abstract Graphene has been widely used as new generation reinforcing nanofiller to achieve significantly improved mechanical properties in composites. However, its reinforcing effect has been considerably affected by the poor interfacial strength between graphene and the matrix.

Improved two-micron lasers for treating glaucoma and reducing skin wrinkles
SPIE Newsroom, 2011Thulium (Tm) lasers operating in the 2 m IR spectral range are interesting for many applications, including spectroscopy, remote sensing, photomedicine, optical communications, and metrology. For instance, in photomedicine, 2 m lasers may be used in ophthalmology to treat glaucoma (high pressure in the eye) by iridotomy, in which holes are made in the ...

Improvement of Wrinkles in Roll-to-Roll Microwave Plasma CVD Graphene
MRS Proceedings, 2015ABSTRACTWrinkle-less graphene films are obtained through roll-to-roll microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition by using flexible copper/polyimide (Cu/PI) webs. Raman spectra suggests that the average domain size of the obtained graphene on the flexible Cu/PI is almost the same compared to the graphene on a Cu web that includes wrinkles.
