Wrist osteoarthritis

open access: yesOrthopaedics & Traumatology: Surgery & Research, 2015
Painful wrist osteoarthritis can result in major functional impairment. Most cases are related to posttraumatic sequel, metabolic arthropathies, or inflammatory joint disease, although wrist osteoarthritis occurs as an idiopathic condition in a small minority of cases. Surgery is indicated only when conservative treatment fails.

Surgical Technique: Wide Arthroscopic Dorsal Capsuloligamentous Repair for Advanced Scapholunate Instability

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2023
In the most advanced cases of scapholunate instability with dynamic or static signs, classical arthroscopic repair seems impossible. Ligamentoplasties or open surgery procedures are technically demanding, hampered by significant operative complications ...

All-Dorsal Arthroscopic Ligamentoplasty (ADAL) in Scapholunate Instability Management: Surgical Technique

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2023
In advanced scapholunate instability, a scapholunate repair by open or arthroscopic ligamentoplasty is indicated. Although the radiographic results and functional scores are more or less satisfactory for open ligamentoplasty, it is often responsible for ...

Wrist Actigraphy [PDF]

open access: yesChest, 2011
To record sleep, actigraph devices are worn on the wrist and record movements that can be used to estimate sleep parameters with specialized algorithms in computer software programs. With the recent establishment of a Current Procedural Terminology code for wrist actigraphy, this technology is being used increasingly in clinical settings as actigraphy ...

The terminology can often be difficult to understand and one surgeon's concept of instability may be completely different from another's. This is by no means a comprehensive review of carpal instability, which has often been the focus of numerous ...
