Free Radical Scavenging and Analgesic Activities of 70% Ethanol Extract of Luvunga sarmentosa (BI.) Kurz from Central Kalimantan

open access: yesBorneo Journal of Pharmacy, 2022
Luvunga sarmentosa, commonly known as Saluang belum, is widely used in Kalimantan to relieve pains, rheumatism, boost the immune system, and fever. The research on the free radical scavenging and analgesic effect of the L. sarmentosa stem extract has not

Synthesis of 2-Phenoxyacetic Acid Analogs for Evaluation of the Anti-inflammatory Potential and Subsequent In Silico Analysis

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry
Several 2-phenoxyacetic acid derivatives and their isosteres were synthesized in moderate to high yield (57–96%) for searching newer and safer alternatives to these existing anti-inflammatory agents.

More‐than‐gender? Moving beyond gendered expectations of divergent learners in early childhood education

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract In this paper, we explore how neurodivergent ways of being in early education are often gendered. The intersectionalities of gender and neurodivergence often lead to fixed expectations that perpetuate binary interpretations, pathologisations, missed diagnoses and a lack of curated support.

The Bi‐Directional Relationship Between Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Uncertainty: The Moderating Role of Organizational Capabilities

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the bi‐directional relationship between corporate sustainability and environmental uncertainty, focusing on key moderators that shape firms' strategic responses. Using fixed‐effects regressions with S&P 500 data (LSEG Refinitiv Workspace, 2005–2022), we present two key findings.

Computing the Writhing Number of a Polygonal Knot

open access: yes, 2008
The writhing number is a standard measure of the global geometry of a closed space curve. We give an algorithm for computing the writhing number for a polygonal knot with ¡ edges in time O ¢ ¡¤£¦ ¥ §©¨ , for any arbitrarily small constant . We

The Analgesic Effect of Pineapple Fruit Juice on Mice

open access: yesAlthea Medical Journal, 2014
Background: Pain is a feeling stimulated by the nervous system which can be suppressed by giving an analgesic agent. Some studies revealed that pineapples have an analgesic effect. This study aim was to determine analgesic effect of pineapple on mice.

Antinociceptive effects of methanolic extract of Allium paradoxum in mice in Hot-plate and writhing tests [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Introduction: Pain is a kind of problem that almost all humans have experienced. Although it does not require treatment in mild cases, pharmacotherapy is essential in severe ones. Various drugs are currently being used for this purpose.

Mechanism of Isonitrilase, a Nonheme Iron Decarboxylase Involved in the Biosynthesis of the Isonitrile Group in Peptides: A Computational Study

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A combination of molecular dynamics and quantum mechanics calculations shows that substrate is tightly bound inside the enzyme structure that enables two successive catalytic cycles with dioxygen and α‐ketoglutarate with an initial desaturation followed by hydrogen abstraction and decarboxylation steps to form an isonitrile substituent.

Anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities of black cumin (BC, Nigella sativa L.) extracts in in vivo model systems

open access: yesBulletin of the National Research Centre, 2022
Background Black cumin (Nigella sativa) is a widely used ingredient of traditional medicine for its broad-spectrum pharmacological actions, including analgesic, bronchial asthma, anti-inflammatory properties, and others. We sought to evaluate BC extracts'

Using Displacement‐Assisted Desorption to Identify Reactive Intermediates: Ring‐Fused Porphyrins on Cu(111)

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
We propose a novel displacement‐assisted approach for temperature‐programmed desorption (TPD), allowing for the detection of reactive intermediates of on‐surface reactions. We demonstrate the approach by investigating the temperature‐dependent ring fusion reactions (cyclodehydrogenations) of tetraphenylporphyrin on Cu(111), revealing the quantitative ...
