Lipid signature in X-ALD: a comparison between phenotypes

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Biosciences
BackgroundX-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD) has highly variable phenotypes with no known genotype/phenotype correlation or method for predicting the course of the disease.

Compound Abrus cantoniensis Extract Alleviates AFB1‐Induced Liver Injury by Regulating PI3K‐AKT Pathway and Gut Microbiota/Butyrate Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ACCE has a good alleviating effect on AFB1‐induced liver injury, and this alleviating effect is related to the PI3K‐AKT pathway regulated by ACCE and the butyrate metabolism of gut microbiota. ABSTRACT Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is a potent hepatotoxin commonly ingested through contaminated food. Abrus cantoniensis Hance, a traditional Chinese medicinal herb,

Generation of induced pluripotent stem line (MIPTi001-A) derived from patient with X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD)

open access: yesStem Cell Research
X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy is a metabolic disease associated with mutations in the ABCD1 gene (ATP-binding cassette subfamily D). Numerous pathogenic variants in this gene lead to a wide spectrum of symptoms, including adrenal insufficiency, slowly progressive dying-back axonopathy and demyelination of the central nervous system in specific ...

Generative AI‐Enabled Discovery and Experimental Demonstration of Ultra‐Broadband Epsilon‐Near‐Zero Perfect Absorbers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Researchers developed and applied a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model to optimize epsilon‐near‐zero thin film stacks for ultra‐broadband perfect absorption of light. The fabricated AI‐designed absorber, with a total thickness of only 160 nm, experimentally demonstrated an absorption bandwidth exceeding 1000 nm while maintaining greater than

一个中国X连锁肾上腺脑白质营养不良家系发生ABCD1基因突变(Ser342Ter)

open access: yesZhongguo shiyan zhenduanxue, 2019

A computerised data handling procedure for defect detection and analysis for large area substrates manufactured by roll-to-roll process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The development of optical on-line/in-process surface inspection and characterisation systems for flexible roll to roll (R2R) thin film barriers used for photo-voltaic (PV) modules is a core research goal for the EU funded NanoMend project.

Defect‐Symmetry Engineered Gyroidal Photonic Crystals Achieve Monotonic Modulation of Bandgap Width With a Stable Mid‐Gap

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the twin grain boundary discovered in natural gyroidal networks, a series of gyroid‐derived photonic crystals are constructed based on defect‐symmetry engineering. The new series of structures enables monotonic tuning of the width of the photonic bandgap (PBG) while the central frequency of the PBG maintains stable.

X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy in a 6-year-old boy initially presenting with psychiatric symptoms

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Pediatrics, 2014
X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) leads to demyelination of the nervous system, adrenal insufficiency and accumulation of long-chain fatty acids. Most young patients with X-linked ALD develop seizures and progressive neurologic deficits, and die
