Acceptance X-bar chart considering the sample distribution of capability indices, C ˆ p and C ˆ p k

open access: greenInternational Journal of Quality & Reliability Management, 2019
Purpose The traditional Shewhart control chart, the X-bar and R/S chart, cannot give support to decide when it is not economically feasible to stop the process in order to remove special causes.

A New Control Scheme Always Better Than X-Bar Chart

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2010
A new control scheme is proposed by borrowing the idea of the Benjamini–Hochberg procedure for controlling the false discovery rate in multiple testing. It is shown theoretically that the proposed 2-span control scheme outperforms the Shewhart X-bar chart in terms of the average run length under any size of mean shifts. Some simulations are carried out

Effect of measurement errors on triple sampling X¯${{\bar{\bm X}}}$ chart

Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 2022
AbstractThe performance of the triple sampling (TS) chart is investigated by using a linear covariate error model that considers the presence of measurement errors (ME), called the TS‐ME chart. The sensitivity of the TS‐ME chart is evaluated by means of the average run length (ARL) and standard deviation of the run length (SDRL) performance measures ...

Estimation in X-bar control charts: effects and corrections

open access: greenThe International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2014
This paper presents an approach for improving the control limits of \( \overline{X} \) control charts when the parameters of the process are estimated and the control chart is in operation. In these conditions, the observed average run length (ARL) may be very different from the planned ARL since the parameter estimates may have a larger error.

Fitting X-bar Chart to the Traditional Transaction Surveys Analysis

Association of Marketing Theory and Practice Proceedings, 2010
Traditional transaction surveys such as service feedback cards (SFCs) are widely embraced by different service organizations to measure a service quality or to assess customer satisfaction with specific transactions. This paper pursues to apply the statistical quality control technique of -chart (X-bar) to analyze the scaled collected data of these ...

Contour Approach for Analysis of Minimum Regions for the Economic Statistical Design of X-Bar Control Charts [PDF]

open access: diamondJournal of Service Science and Management
—Visualization of the patterns or behaviors of complex functions is an important approach to identify their solution spaces. This approach can lead to improve the design of search algorithms for optimization purposes.
