Correlation of Band Bending and Ionic Losses in 1.68 eV Wide Band Gap Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Piperazinium salt treatments with different anions (chloride, iodide, tosylate, and bistriflimide) influence the energetics, carrier dynamics and long‐term stability of 1.68 eV perovskite solar cells. Chloride treatments achieve the highest efficiency (21.5%) but suffer from fast degradation due to ionic losses.

Correlation between the photon index and X-ray luminosity of black hole X-ray binaries and active galactic nuclei: observations and interpretation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate the observed correlation between the 2-10 keV X-ray luminosity (in unit of the Eddington luminosity; l(X) L-X/L-Edd) and the photon index (Gamma) of the X-ray spectrum for both black hole X-ray binaries (BHBs) and active galactic nuclei ...

X-Ray spectra of AGN's with strong emission lines

open access: yesВісник Астрономічної школи, 2012
Using XMM-Newton archive we obtained X-ray spectra for 12 AGN's with strong optical emission lines. Models of our spectra corresponds to Seyfert galaxies.

Rapid Variability of the Accretion Disk Wind in the Narrow-line Seyfert 1, PG 1448+273

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
PG 1448+273 is a luminous, nearby ( z = 0.0645), narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxy, which likely accretes close to the Eddington limit. XMM-Newton observations of PG 1448+273 in 2017 revealed the presence of an ultrafast outflow, as seen through its ...

Testing the X-ray variability of active galactic nuclei with the nonlinear prediction method [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The analysis of eight EXOSAT X-ray lightcurves of six active galactic nuclei by nonlinear prediction methods indicates that the observed short time-scale variability is truly stochastic and is not caused by deterministic chaos. This result favors X-ray emission models with mutliple centers of production of hot, possibly relativistic electrons.

Metal halide perovskite for room temperature gamma‐ray spectrum detection

open access: yesInformation &Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Integrating recent advancements in metal halide perovskite (MHP) for room temperature gamma‐ray spectroscopy, we provide a comprehensive overview of the methods for growing high‐quality MHP crystals, along with fundamental insights into the structure of gamma‐ray devices and the defect characteristics of MHPs.

THE NuSTAR EXTRAGALACTIC SURVEYS: THE NUMBER COUNTS OF ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEI AND THE RESOLVED FRACTION OF THE COSMIC X-RAY BACKGROUND [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We present the 3–8 keV and 8–24 keV number counts of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) identified in the Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR) extragalactic surveys.

Investigating Model Dependencies for Obscured Active Galactic Nuclei: A Case Study of NGC 3982

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
X-ray spectroscopy of heavily obscured active galactic nuclei (AGN) offers a unique opportunity to study the circumnuclear environment of accreting supermassive black holes.

Magnetic reconnection: flares and coronal heating in Active Galactic Nuclei [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
A magnetically-structured accretion disk corona, generated by buoyancy instability in the disk, can account for observations of flare--like events in Active Galactic Nuclei. We examine how Petschek magnetic reconnection, associated with MHD turbulence, can result in a violent release of energy and heat the magnetically closed regions of the corona up ...

4MOST Consortium Survey 6: Active Galactic Nuclei [PDF]

open access: yesThe Messenger, 2019, 175, 42, 2019
X-ray and mid-infrared emission are signposts of the accretion of matter onto the supermassive black holes that reside at the centres of most galaxies. As a major step towards understanding accreting supermassive black holes and their role in the evolution of galaxies, we will use the 4MOST multi-object spectrograph to provide a highly complete census ...
