The infrared--X-ray continuum correlation in active galactic nuclei [PDF]
The correlation between the soft X-ray and near infrared emission from AGN is analysed using composite models by the code SUMA. We find new evidences for differences in ranges of parameters which characterize the NLR of Seyfert galaxies and LINERs. Results obtained by modelling the Einstein and the ROSAT samples of galaxies are in full agreement.

X-ray Reverberation Observational Modelling in Active Galactic Nuclei [PDF]
X-ray reverberation in Active Galactic Nuclei, believed to be the result of the reprocessing of coronal photons by the underlying accretion disc, has allowed us to probe the properties of the inner-most regions of the accretion flow and the central black hole. Our current model (KYNREFREV) computes the time-dependent reflection spectra of the disc as a

X-ray variability of 104 active galactic nuclei [PDF]
AbstractWe have performed a uniform analysis of the power spectrum densities (PSDs) of 104 nearby (z<0.4) active galactic nuclei (AGN) using 209 XMM-Newton/pn observations, including several AGN classes. These PSDs span ≃ 3 decades in temporal frequencies, ranging from minutes to days.

X-ray active galactic nuclei in the core of the Perseus cluster [PDF]
We present a study of the X-ray emission from the nuclei of galaxies observed in the core of the Perseus cluster in a deep exposure with Chandra. Point sources are found coincident with the nuclei of 13 early-type galaxies, as well as the central galaxy NGC1275. This corresponds to all galaxies brighter than M_B = -18 in the Chandra field. All of these

The X-Ray Coronae in NuSTAR Bright Active Galactic Nuclei
Abstract We present a systematic and uniform analysis of NuSTAR data of a sample of 60 SWIFT BAT-selected AGNs with 10–78 keV signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) > 50, 10 of which are radio loud. We measure their high-energy cutoff E cut or coronal temperature T e using three different spectral models to ...

Extreme X-Ray Iron Lines in Active Galactic Nuclei
We analyze X-ray spectra of heavily obscured (N_H > 10^{24} cm^{-2}) active galaxies obtained with Chandra, concentrating on the iron K alpha fluorescence line. We measure very large equivalent widths in most cases, up to 5 keV in the most extreme example.

Spatiotemporal Control Over Circadian Rhythms With Light
ABSTRACT Circadian rhythms are endogenous biological oscillators that synchronize internal physiological processes and behaviors with external environmental changes, sustaining homeostasis and health. Disruption of circadian rhythms leads to numerous diseases, including cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, cancer, diabetes, and neurological disorders.
