DAXA: Traversing the X-ray desert by Democratising Archival X-ray Astronomy [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We introduce a new, open-source, Python module for the acquisition and processing of archival data from many X-ray telescopes - Democratising Archival X-ray Astronomy (hereafter referred to as DAXA). Our software is built to increase access to, and use of, large archives of X-ray astronomy data; providing a unified, easy-to-use, Python interface to the

Signatures of large-scale structure of Universe in X-rays [PDF]

open access: yesOdessa Astronomy Publications, 2012, Vol. 25, P. 142-144, 2013
A new sample of 4299 galaxies with X-ray emission was obtained in this work by cross-correlating 2XMM catalog of X-ray sources with HyperLeda database of galaxies. We analyzed distributions of optical and X-ray fluxes, redshifts and X-ray luminosities for this sample.

AXAF in Context: A Revolution [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1997
The unique power of AXAF (NASA's Advanced X-ray Astrophysics Facility) - due for launch in late 1988 - make it both the culmination of 20 years of X-ray astronomy, and a new starting point for X-ray astrophysics. This short paper tries to show just how revolutionary AXAF is.
