An Optical Search for New Outbursting Low Mass X-Ray Binaries
Transient low-mass X-ray binaries (LMXBs) are discovered largely by X-ray and gamma-ray all-sky monitors. The X-ray outburst is also accompanied by an optical brightening, which empirically can precede the detection of X-rays.

Designing stable Ru nanoparticle catalyst remains a critical challenge in electrochemical applications. Here, a strategy is presented to stabilize Ru catalysts by leveraging Ce‐doped ZrO2 supports (ZrCeO2‐x), which enhance catalyst durability and activity through electronic metal‐support interactions and stabilized oxygen vacancies.

Emergence of Local Magnetic Moment in Ternary TaWSe2 Single Crystal via Atomic Clustering
This study investigates local magnetic moments in ternary TaWSe2. Triangular Ta clusters with consistent shapes are identified through STM/S, and DFT calculations. These clusters induce localized strain, generating magnetic moments at the cluster corners. Magnetic measurements confirm a magnetic anomaly at ∼50 K.

X-Ray Polarized View of the Accretion Geometry in the X-Ray Binary Circinus X-1
Cir X-1 is a neutron star X-ray binary characterized by strong variations in flux during its eccentric ∼16.6 day orbit. There are also strong variations in the spectral state, and it has historically shown both atoll and Z state properties.
