Synthesis and Electronic Structure of the Fractionally Occupied Double Perovskite EuTa2O6 with Ordered Europium Vacancies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two‐dimensional electronic states are the foundation of modern semiconductor technology. Here, we report molecular‐beam epitaxy growth of fractional double perovskite, EuTa2O6. Reciprocal space mapping and transmission electron microscopy confirm a layered ordering of A‐site cations.

Pulse-profile Modeling and Spin–Orbit Alignment in a Suzaku Sample of Accreting X-Ray Binary Pulsars

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We report pulse-profile modeling of a sample of 23 X-ray binary pulsars observed with the Suzaku X-ray satellite. These pulsars have spin periods ranging from 0.7 to 9400 s, and their X-ray emission is powered by the accretion from their stellar ...

Supraparticles Composed of Graphitic Carbon Nitride Nanoparticles and Silica‐Supported Horseradish Peroxidase as Customizable Hybrid Catalysts for Photo‐Biocatalytic Cascade Reactions in Continuous Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein presented supraparticles combine the nanoparticulate photocatalyst graphitic carbon nitride with the enzyme horseradish peroxidase, which is immobilized on silica nanoparticles. In an optimized compatibility range, both catalysts operate effectively within the hybrid supraparticles and catalyze a cascade reaction consisting of the photocatalytic

Orbital Phase Shifts of Type-I Outbursts in EXO 2030+375

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
EXO 2030+375 is a peculiar high-mass X-ray binary that has been exhibiting Type-I outburst activities consistently over the past decades. The phases of outburst peaks are generally stable and occur near the orbital periastron.

Design of Terpene‐Based Eco‐Friendly Solution Process for High‐Performance Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐performance, terpene‐processed organic solar cells (OSCs) by designing a new green co‐solvent system consisting of eucalyptol (Eu) and 2‐methyltetrahydrofuran (MeTHF) are developed. The OSCs processed from the optimal ratio of Eu and MeTHF achieve the highest power conversion efficiency (PCE) value of 17.3% reported to date for terpene‐processed ...

Fast Transitions of X-Ray Variability in the Neutron Star Low-mass X-Ray Binary Cygnus X-2

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present a spectral-timing analysis of two NICER observations of the weakly magnetized neutron star low-mass X-ray binary Cygnus X-2. During these observations, we detect a rapid transition from a narrow 50 Hz horizontal-branch oscillation (HBO) to a ...
