X-ray computed tomography using projection x-ray microscope

SPIE Proceedings, 2002
We have applied projection X-ray microscope for three- dimensional (3D) structure analysis by means of cone-beam computed tomography. The projection images of small insect, Omiscus Porcellio, were recorded in every 1 degree for whole direction (360 degree) with a stepping motor controlled sample rotator. The images were recorded with cooled CCD camera (

X-Ray Computed Tomography

1980
Matter is made of elementary particles consisting of a nucleus composed of protons and neutrons surrounded by electrons. The protons are hydrogen nuclei with a positive charge and their number determines the atomic number. The neutrons, which have no electric charge, form with the protons the nucleons which determine the atomic mass.

Computed tomographic x-ray velocimetry

Applied Physics Letters, 2010
An x-ray velocimetry technique is described which provides three components of velocity measurement in three dimensional space. Current x-ray velocimetry techniques, which use particle images taken at a single projection angle, are limited to two components of velocity measurement, and are unable to measure in three dimensions without a priori ...

Dose in x-ray computed tomography

Physics in Medicine and Biology, 2014
Radiation dose in x-ray computed tomography (CT) has become a topic of high interest due to the increasing numbers of CT examinations performed worldwide. This review aims to present an overview of current concepts for both scanner output metrics and for patient dosimetry and will comment on their strengths and weaknesses.

X-Ray Computed Tomography

2000
X-ray computed tomography (CT) is still a workhorse of neuroimaging despite the significant contributions to neurodiagnosis made by newer technologies such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), and single proton emission CT (SPECT). Within only a few years of its introduction in 1972, by Geoffrey N.

X-ray diffraction computed tomography.

Medical physics, 1987
Coherent scattering of x-ray photons leads to the phenomenon of x-ray diffraction, which is widely used for determining atomic structure in materials science. A technique [x-ray diffraction computed tomography (CT)] is described, analogous to conventional CT, in which the x-ray diffraction properties of a stack of two-dimensional object sections may be
