X-ray micro-modulated luminescence tomography (XMLT) [PDF]
Imaging depth of optical microscopy has been fundamentally limited to millimeter or sub-millimeter due to strong scattering of light in a biological sample. X-ray microscopy can resolve spatial details of few microns deep inside a sample but contrast resolution is inadequate to depict heterogeneous features at cellular or sub-cellular levels.

X-ray-activated persistent luminescence nanomaterials for NIR-II imaging [PDF]
Persistent luminescence is not affected by background autofluorescence, and thus holds the promise of high-contrast bioimaging. However, at present, persistent luminescent materials for in vivo imaging are mainly bulk crystals characterized by a non ...

Luminescence in Manganese (II)-Doped SrZn2S2O Crystals From Multiple Energy Conversion
Under the excitation of ultraviolet, X-ray, and mechanical stress, intense orange luminescence (Mn2+, 4T1 → 6A1) can be generated in Mn2+-doped SrZn2S2O crystal in orthorhombic space group of Pmn21. Herein, the multiple energy conversion in SrZn2S2O:Mn2+,

Probing the local emission of CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ via X-ray nanoprobe
A synchrotron source offers the advantage of continuous and tunable x rays. Therefore, not only an X-ray nanoprobe can provide the desired spatial resolution to measure the elemental distribution of CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ via X-ray fluorescence mapping but X-ray ...
