Analytic descriptions of parabolic X-ray mirrors [PDF]
On X-ray beamlines and telescopes, glancing-incidence mirrors with parabolic profiles are used to collimate, focus, and collect light. Here, analytic descriptions for paraboloidal, plane-parabolic, and parabolic cylindrical mirrors in several congruent ...

Investigation of structural and reflective characteristics of short-period Mo/B4C multilayer X-ray mirrors [PDF]
The results of a study of the structural and reflective characteristics of short-period multilayer X-ray mirrors based on Mo/B4C at wavelengths 1.54 Å, 9.89 Å and 17.59 Å are presented. The period of the samples varied in the range 8–35 Å.

Silicon nitride transmission X-ray mirrors. [PDF]
Transmission X-ray mirrors have been fabricated from 300-400 nm-thick low-stress silicon nitride windows of size 0.6 mm x 85 mm. The windows act as a high-pass energy filter at grazing incidence in an X-ray beam for the beam transmitted through the window.

Ion beam figuring for X-ray mirrors: history, state-of-the-art and future prospects [PDF]
Synchrotron light sources require X-ray optics with extremely demanding accuracy for the surface profile, with less than 100 nrad slope errors and sub-nanometre height errors.

Framework for X-ray mirror surface shape fitting [PDF]
For accurate characterization of grazing-incidence X-ray mirrors, we present a comprehensive framework to fit measured surface shapes (either slope or height) of X-ray mirrors used in synchrotron radiation and free-electron laser facilities. We summarize

Short-period multilayer X-ray mirrors
Multilayer structures with short periods have been systematically investigated using a tunable soft X-ray synchrotron, BESSY II, and X-ray tube radiation. Multilayer X-ray mirrors of W/B(4)C, W/Sc, Mo/B(4)C, Mo/C, La/B(4)C, Cr/C and Cr/Sc, with periods from 0.8 nm to 3.5 nm and number of periods up to 300-400, were constructed and investigated.
