Synthesis and characterization of visible-light-driven novel CuTa2O6 as a promising practical photocatalyst

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2023
In this work, the novel CuTa2O6 phase was successfully synthesized by the hydrothermal and followed by the calcination process. The X-ray diffraction pattern confirms the formation of different phases.

Deep‐Learning‐Based Detection of Vertebral Fracture and Osteoporosis Using Lateral Spine X‐Ray Radiography

open access: yesJournal of Bone and Mineral Research, 2023
Osteoporosis and vertebral fractures (VFs) remain underdiagnosed. The addition of deep learning methods to lateral spine radiography (a simple, widely available, low‐cost test) can potentially solve this problem.

Local structure of Amorphous carbon investigated by X-ray total scattering and RMC modeling

open access: yesScientific Reports
Amorphous carbon is a promising candidate as an energy storage material. In this paper, we performed an X-ray total scattering measurement, RMC modeling, and persistent homology analysis for amorphous carbon samples fabricated at two different heat ...

Evaluation of lattice curvature and crystalline homogeneity for 2-inch GaN homo-epitaxial layer

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
We evaluated the lattice curvature, crystallinity, and crystalline homogeneity of a GaN layer on a free standing GaN substrate using lattice orientation measurements, θ rocking curves, and reciprocal space mapping from synchrotron X-ray diffraction ...

Fresnel coherent diffractive imaging tomography of whole cells in capillaries

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
X-ray tomography can be used to study the structure of whole cells in close to their native state. Ptychographic Fresnel coherent diffractive imaging (FCDI) holds particular promise for high-resolution tomographic imaging with quantitative phase ...

Hard X-ray imaging for landslide research

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, 2010
Synchrotron phase-contrast hard X-ray imaging is used to provide highly efficient direct visualization of landslide dynamics and granular flows in fully wet granular piles. High penetration capability and phase-contrast enhancement of hard X-rays offer marked advantages in the precise tracking of individual granular movements through a thick water ...

Lead‐Free Halide Perovskites for Direct X‐Ray Detectors

open access: yesAdvancement of science, 2023
Lead halide perovskites have made remarkable progress in the field of radiation detection owing to the excellent and unique optoelectronic properties. However, the instability and the toxicity of lead‐based perovskites have greatly hindered its practical

Enhanced colour encoding of materials discrimination information for multiple view dual-energy x-ray imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This thesis reports an investigation into dual-energy X-ray discrimination techniques. These techniques are designed to provide colour-coded materials discrimination information in a sequence of perspective images exhibiting sequential parallax.

Laboratory-based cellular-level correlative visible-light and X-ray microscopy for 3D evaluation of mouse kidney biopsy

open access: yesScientific Reports
X-ray microscopy (XRM) is an emerging technology for nondestructive evaluation of bio-specimen. We previously reported that paraffin, which is used for normal histology, acts as a tissue contrast enhancement agent in XRM, thereby enabling cellular-level ...
