The Astrophysical Journal LettersCir X-1 is a neutron star X-ray binary characterized by strong variations in flux during its eccentric ∼16.6 day orbit. There are also strong variations in the spectral state, and it has historically shown both atoll and Z state properties.

Hard Cosmic X-ray Sources [PDF]
Symposium - International Astronomical Union, 1973 A review of the observational status of X-ray sources detected in the 20 ⋍ 500 keV range is presented. Of the approximately 115 sources listed in the March 1972 edition of the UHURU 2–6 keV sky survey catalog, about 15 sources have been studied in hard X-rays.

Advanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Observations of X-ray Burst Sources [PDF]
Symposium - International Astronomical Union, 1987 Recent observational results on X-ray bursts and burst sources are reviewed. Two distinct types of bursts, Type I and Type II bursts, are discussed in relation to the mass and radius of neutron stars and to the problems of unusual mass accretion in some burst sources.

Effect of Laser Deoxidation on Adhesive‐Bonded Aluminum in an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
Advanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.This study investigates laser ablation of aluminum under oxygen‐free conditions. The goal is to produce oxide‐free substrates that enable improved adhesive bonding with epoxy. Optimized laser parameters (90% overlap, 300 µJ) combined with oxide‐free substrates result in the highest tensile strength of the adhesive bond.
