Nickel‐based alloys are widely used in high‐temperature applications due to their excellent mechanical strength and oxidation resistance. However, properties such as high‐temperature strength and pronounced work‐hardening make them difficult to machine.

The Redshift Distribution of Einstein Probe Transients Supports Their Relation to Gamma-Ray Bursts
The launch of the Einstein Probe unleashed a new era of high-energy transient discovery in the largely unexplored soft X-ray band. The Einstein Probe has detected a significant number of fast X-ray transients that display no gamma-ray emission ...

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

The presented study focuses on the fracture behaviour of carbon‐bonded magnesia MgO–C refractories, where environmentally friendly fructose, collagen and lignin serve as temporary binding agents. The partial substitution of the source material with recycled MgO–C reduces the fracture resistance, which can be counteracted by the additional introduction ...

Neutron Stars as X-ray Sources
DURING the rocket flight reported in the preceding communication, Bowyer et al. found two celestial X-ray sources with diameters less than 5°. One was located in the northern part of Scorpius in a region of faint stars but devoid of visible nebulosity and radio objects, while the other was coincident with the Crab Nebula, the well-known source of ...
