CHEST X-RAY SURVEYS

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1956
To the Editor:— In an editorial inThe Journal, April 23, 1955, page 1499, Garland indicated that the yield of new active cases of tuberculosis resulting from chest x-ray surveys was small. He raised the question whether it would not be timely and appropriate to reevaluate the usefulness of this measure as a case-finding tool. During the past two years

Cosmic x-ray surveys.

2023
Chapters 1 to 3 are devoted solely to review of the X-ray sky, the environmental limitations on an experiment, and the techniques of X-ray detection. These are necessary for the design of proportional counters for a series of rocket surveys of the X-ray sky.

X-ray Survey of Centaurus A

Science, 1970
An x-ray survey of Centaurus A has given marginal evidence of its x-ray flux. If taken as an upper limit on inverse Compton x-rays generated by scattering interactions between relativistic electrons and cosmological background photons, the observation implies an upper limit of close to 3°K for the background radiation temperature.

European survey of dental X-ray equipment

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2008
The implementation of an X-ray Quality Assurance (QA) program is a legal requirement in Europe as stipulated in the EU Council Directive 97/43/EURATOM (MED). A review of the literature has identified that European countries are performing some level of QA testing of their dental X-ray equipment, although the type and level to which testing is performed
