OcuPair, a Novel Photo‐crosslinkable PAMAM Dendrimer‐Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogel Bandage/Bioadhesive for Corneal Injuries and Temporary Corneal Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A schematic diagram showing the OcuPair adhesive hydrogel formulation loaded into the final delivery device and applied over the full‐thickness corneal wound in an in vivo rabbit model of corneal injury followed by in situ crosslinking to form a transparent hydrogel bandage sealing the wound.

A soft x-ray polarimeter designed for broadband x-ray telescopes [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2007
A novel approach for measuring linear X-ray polarization over a broad-band using conventional imaging optics and cameras is described. A new type of high efficiency grating, called the critical angle transmission grating is used to disperse soft X-rays radially from the telescope axis.

A Review of Ga₂O₃ Heterojunctions for Deep‐UV Photodetection: Current Progress, Methodologies, and Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This paper provides a comprehensive review of the existing literature related to the fundamentals of gallium oxide (Ga2O3), growth methods, substrates, and particularly a focused examination of Ga2O3‐based heterojunctions. Particular attention has also been given to the state‐of‐the‐art Ga2O3‐based heterojunctions for photodetectors. The key challenges

Determining Exciton Diffusion Length in Organic Semiconductors: Unifying Macro‐ and Microscopic Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Exciton diffusion length in organic semiconductor films is determined from encounter/annihilation rates. Non‐normalized exciton densities and proper intrinsic lifetime reference avoid over‐parametrization of the fits. Monte Carlo Simulation of individual molecule‐to‐molecule hops reproduce these results (②) when matching lattice constant and hoping ...

Miniature lightweight x-ray optics (MiXO) for surface elemental composition mapping of asteroids and comets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The compositions of diverse planetary bodies are of fundamental interest to planetary science, providing clues to the formation and evolutionary history of the target bodies and the Solar system as a whole. Utilizing the X-ray fluorescence unique to each atomic element, X-ray imaging spectroscopy is a powerful diagnostic tool of the chemical and ...

Large-angle OBServaTory with Energy Resolution for Synoptic X-ray Studies (LOBSTER-SXS) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The soft X-ray band hosts a larger, more diverse range of variable sources than any other region of the electromagnetic spectrum. They are stars, compact binaries, SMBH's, the X-ray components of Gamma-Ray Bursts, their X-ray afterglows, and soft X-ray flares from supernova.

GRB Progenitor Classification from Gamma-Ray Burst Prompt and Afterglow Observations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Using an established classification technique, we leverage standard observations and analyses to predict the progenitors of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). This technique, utilizing support vector machine statistics, provides a more nuanced prediction than the ...
