Effects of Soft X-Ray Irradiation to Stage X Blastoderm on Restriction of Proliferation of Primordial Germ Cells in Early Chicken Embryos

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2006
It is necessary to deplete the endogenous primordial germ cells (PGCs) from recipient embryos when germline chimaeric chickens are produced by the transfer of PGCs. In this study, effects of soft X-ray irradiation on the restriction of PGC proliferation

Directional-Sensitive X-ray/Gamma-ray Imager on Board the VZLUSAT-2 CubeSat for Wide Field-of-View Observation of GRBs in Low Earth Orbit

open access: yesUniverse, 2022
We present a miniaturized and wide field-of-view X-ray and Gamma-ray imager consisting of a segmented 2D optics-collimator coupled to the high-sensitivity semiconductor pixel detector Timepix equipped with a high-Z sensor (CdTe 2000 μm thick).

INTEGRAL observations of the blazar 3C454.3 in outburst [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In Spring 2005, the blazar 3C454.3 underwent a dramatic outburst at all wavelengths from mm to X-rays. This prompted INTEGRAL observations, accomplished in 15-18 May 2005. The source was detected by the INTEGRAL instruments from 3 to 200 keV in a bright state (~5 x 10E-10 cgs), at least a factor of 2-3 higher than previously observed.

A Quantum Theory of the Scattering of X-rays by Light Elements

open access: yes, 1923
A quantum theory of the scattering of X-rays and $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-rays by light elements.---The hypothesis is suggested that when an X-ray quantum is scattered it spends all of its energy and momentum upon some particular electron.

An evaluation of the use of nasal bones imaging in primary care in Malta [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Introduction: Fractures of the nasal bones are one of the commonest injuries sustained in facial trauma. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of nasal bone x-rays in the public primary care department in Malta and whether this has an impact ...

Mapping Hsp104 interactions using cross‐linking mass spectrometry

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study examines how cross‐linking mass spectrometry can be utilized to analyze ATP‐induced conformational changes in Hsp104 and its interactions with substrates. We developed an analytical pipeline to distinguish between intra‐ and inter‐subunit contacts within the hexameric homo‐oligomer and discovered contacts between Hsp104 and a selected ...

The Effect of the Exposure  into a low dose of X-ray on human Hematological Parameters

open access: yesمجلة علوم ذي قار
Although low dose of X-rays are widely used in medical radiology, the harmful effects of exposure to low dose of X-rays during diagnostic radiological examination is still a commonly discussed topic.
