Mechanical Properties of the Heat Affected Zone of an X100 Grade Pipeline Steel
Materials Science Forum, 2013The microstructure and mechanical properties of an X100 grade pipeline steel were investigated by the thermal simulation tests performed on a Gleeble-3500 thermal simulator. The results show that the steel has excellent weldability. Even if the weld heat input gets 40 kJ mm-1, the low impact toughness energy in welding coarse grain heat affected zone ...

Study on the Toughness of X100 Pipeline Steel Heat Affected Zone
2014Microstructure-property correlation of heat affected zone (HAZ) in X100 longitudinal submerged arc welding (LSAW) real weld joint was studied in this paper. Coarse grained (CG) HAZ and intercritically reheated coarse grained (ICCG) HAZ were characterized by optical microscope (OM), electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD).

Effect of Crystallographic Texture on Anisotropy of Yield Strength in X100 Pipeline Steel
Journal of Iron and Steel Research International, 2013Abstract The anisotropy of microstructures and mechanical properties in commercial American Petroleum Institute (API) X100 pipeline steel was systematically investigated by experimental measurements. The experimental results show that anisotropy of yield strength could be observed considerably, which should be attributed to the crystallographic ...

L51924 Evaluation of Welding Consumables and Processes for X100 Steel
2003The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the mechanical properties of weld metals deposited using a number of commercially available welding consumables and welding processes. The secondary objectives of this work included characterizing weld metal microstructure, assessing hydrogen-assisted cracking susceptibility of the weld metal and X100

Corrosion of Welded X100 Pipeline Steel in a Near-Neutral pH Solution
Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, 2009In this work, electrochemical corrosion behavior of a welded X100 pipeline steel was studied in a near-neutral pH solution by electrochemical scanning vibrating electrode technique combined with metallographic and scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive x-ray analysis.

Effects of Finish Cooling Temperature on Microstructure and Properties of X100 Pipeline Steels
Materials Science Forum, 2016The effect of finish cooling temperature on microstructure and mechanical properties of X100 pipeline steels were investigated through SEM, TEM and mechanical tests. The results showed that the effect of finish cooling temperature on tensile strength of studied steels were slight in the temperature range of 180°C~500°C.
