Effect of hydrostatic pressure on the anodic dissolution process of X80 steel

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Based on the fact that hydrostatic pressure affects chemical potentials of reaction species and the structure evolution of electric double layer (EDL), the authors propose a generalized-BV equation to analyze the anodic dissolution process of X80 steel in deep-sea environment.

Carbon Dioxide Corrosion Mechanisms: Historical Development and Key Parameters of CO2‐H2O Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Corrosion, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
The recent failures in flexible pipes have motivated the exhaustive research of corrosion mechanisms on high‐strength carbon steel armor wires that are the main structural compounds of those structures that mostly operate in seawater environments in the presence of carbon dioxide (CO2) and confined spaces.

Galvanic Corrosion Behavior of the X80 Steel Welded Joint

open access: yesCoatings
Wire beam electrode techniques and classical electrochemical techniques were used to investigate the effect of the area ratio of each part of the welded joint on the galvanic corrosion behavior. The results showed that the order of the corrosion current density of the different regions in the simulated X80 steel welded joint was as follows: coarse ...
