Measurements by SKPFM and Finite‐Element Modeling of Hydrogen Atom Diffusion and Distribution in Ferrite and Bainite Contained in X80 Steel

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 94, Issue 6, June 2023., 2023
Herein, a new method is developed by combining scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy measurements with finite‐element modeling, studying the hydrogen atom diffusion and distribution in ferrite and bainite phases contained in X80 pipeline steel. The hydrogen atom concentrations in lattice and trap sites in the two phases are determined.

A new analytical method for calculating the strain of oil and gas pipeline under a normal fault dislocation

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 398-409, January 2023., 2023
A new analytic method for the buried pipeline crossing the normal fault based on the shape function. Abstract Oil and gas pipelines that go through an active normal fault often deform largely and cause serious disasters. On the basis of the beam theory of the elastic foundation and assuming a shape function for the deformed pipeline, a new analytical ...

Research on Material Selection Method and Brittle Fracture Mechanism of High‐Pressure Pipeline

open access: yesShock and Vibration, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Aiming at the problem of the brittle fracture of pressure pipeline, the elastic constraint structure is described by using members and engineering building structures, and the concept of elastic constraint is proposed. Through the stress field analysis of the pressure pipeline under internal pressure, it is found that the pressure pipeline under ...

Study on Improving the Performance of X80 Pipeline Steel

open access: yesDEStech Transactions on Engineering and Technology Research, 2017
This paper analyzes the methods of improving the performance of X80 pipeline steel. In the process of manufacturing piping, the right temperature of coiling the steel can improve the comprehensive mechanical properties of X80 pipeline steel. The proper cooling rate can make heat affected zone get the good performance.

Precipitates in Nb and Nb–V Microalloyed X80 Pipeline Steel [PDF]

open access: yesMicroscopy and Microanalysis, 2013
AbstractPrecipitates in two X80 pipeline steels were studied by transmission electron microscopy equipped with an energy filtering system. The steels are microalloyed with niobium and niobium–vanadium (Nb–V), respectively, and produced by continuous hot rolling.

The effect of hydrogen on the fracture toughness of friction‐stir welded API 5L X70 pipeline steels

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, Volume 45, Issue 10, Page 3009-3024, October 2022., 2022
Abstract The hydrogen embrittlement (HE) leads to severe steel degradation of mechanical properties. The hydrogen atoms diffuse into the steel and get positioned into reversible and irreversible trap sites. The pipe to transport oil and gas needs to be welded to construct long‐distance pipeline projects; thus, friction‐stir welding (FSW) has proven an ...
