Bio‐derived lignin–Eosin Y macromolecular networks are developed as visible‐light‐responsive self‐sterilizing coatings that generate reactive oxygen species without leaching. The spray‐coated photopolymerized surfaces exhibit durable antibacterial and antiviral activity under ambient light for extended periods, demonstrating a scalable and sustainable ...

We report the synthesis, structural characterization, and photophysical investigation of a series of Excited‐State Intramolecular Proton Transfer‐active HBO and HDMI derivatives. By varying heterocyclic cores, substituents, and ethynyl planarization, we establish structure–property relationships governing fluorescence behavior.

Design strategies and progress on xanthene-based fluorescent probe for metal ions
Metal ions play critical roles in numerous fundamental life processes. Hence, there is a great need to effectively monitor and image metal ions. Fluorescent probes are one of the most effective methods for measuring metal ions.

Photosensitization of Colloidal SnO2 Semiconductor Nanoparticles with Xanthene Dyes
The photochemical behavior of xanthene dyes (fluorescein, erythrosine, and eosin) with colloidal SnO2 nanoparticles was probed by UV-visible, steady state, and time resolved fluorescence measurements. The prepared SnO2 nanoparticles were characterized by

New synthetic strategies for xanthene-dye-appended cyclodextrins
Xanthene dyes can be appended to cyclodextrins via an ester or amide bridge in order to switch the fluorescence on or off. This is made possible through the formation of nonfluorescent lactones or lactams as the fluorophore can reversibly cyclize.
