Fendioxypyracil, a new and systemic PPO‐inhibiting herbicide for X‐spectrum weed control
This graphical abstract presents the discovery and synthesis of PPO herbicide structures with a central pyridine core, showing molecular conformations, dose–response inhibition curves for PPO1 and PPO2, and comparative weed and grass control efficacy of fendioxypyracil versus other herbicides in greenhouse and field trials.

The importance of alternative host plants as reservoirs of the cotton leaf hopper, Amrasca devastans, and its natural enemies [PDF]
Many agricultural pests can be harboured by alternative host plants but these can also harbour the pests’ natural enemies. We evaluated the capacity of non-cotton plant species (both naturally growing and cultivated) to function as alternative hosts for ...

Tocopherols and leaf age in Xanthium strumarium L. [PDF]
summaryThe concentration of tocopherol in the leaves of Xanthium strumarium L., plants growing under vegetative conditions, were analysed to determine whether they are maintained constant in the different leaves, during the light period throughout the vegetative growth of the plant, α‐ and γ‐Tocopherols were present in this tissue.

Participation of Long-Day Inhibition in Flowering of Xanthium strumarium L. [PDF]
Two basic experiments defined a long-day inhibitory effect on Xanthium flowering: the basal half of a single leaf on long day inhibits response of the tip half to a short day; and a long-day leaf inhibits response of a short-day leaf, providing it is between the short-day leaf and a receptive bud (whether above or below the short-day leaf).

Concerted suppression of STAT3 and GSK3β is involved in growth inhibition of non-small cell lung cancer by Xanthatin. [PDF]
Xanthatin, a sesquiterpene lactone purified from Xanthium strumarium L., possesses prominent anticancer activity. We found that disruption of GSK3β activity was essential for xanthatin to exert its anticancer properties in non-small cell lung cancer ...

A prospective, systematic and cross‐sectional population study was performed involving 1000 adult subjects from five centers representing different climatic areas of Türkiye (Turkey). Molecular IgE profiling demonstrated substantial interregional variation and identified a hypoallergenic region in the easternmost area with a continental climate.

Chlorophyll Levels and Leaf Chlorplast Ultrastructure as Ecotypic Characters in Xanthium Strumarium L. [PDF]
The major objective of the work was to clarify some of the adaptive mechanisms that a common widespread species would show as a possible requirement for survival in its natural habitats.

Schematic representation of the experimental settings for one field type. Each setting was assigned one of the three treatments (i.e., walls, floors, or control). Each treatment contained an AudioMoth™ (circle), either positioned close to the ground (5 cm) or elevated (60 cm), acting as a receiver organism. Abstract Sensory ecology theory proposes that
