In the presence of catalytic amounts of Pd nanoparticles generated from Pd2dba3/AgBF4, (E)‐β‐trimethylsilyl styrenes undergo with aryl iodides an exclusive Hiyama‐type C‐Si coupling pathway leading to trans‐stilbenes. Side arylation products are completely eliminated if performing the reaction in 1,3‐dimethyl‐2‐imidazolidinone (DMI), an environmentally

Xanthoria parietina associates with an unexpectedly high diversity of Trebouxia phycobionts within clade A across the Mediterranean Basin. Climatic niche modelling reveals that differences in photobiont climatic preferences contribute to symbiont switching and help explain the broad ecological amplitude and geographic success of this widespread lichen.

Changes in population structure and body dimensions of two xanthid crabs: A long-term study in a single boulder-shore [PDF]
Two xanthid crab species were studied during 29 months over a period of 14 years between 1986 and 1999 all in exactly the same boulder shore. One of the crab species studied was the xanthid, Eriphia verrucosa (Forskall, 1775) with 60 specimens, the other

Acupuncture: A Promising Non‐Pharmacological Approach to Parkinson's Disease Management
The mechanism of acupuncture treatment of PD models involves oxidative stress, intestinal flora, neuroinflammation, autophagy, neurogenesis, pyroptosis, and apoptosis. ABSTRACT Purpose This review aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying the neuroprotective effects of acupuncture in preclinical models of Parkinson's disease (PD).

Global Water Stress Assessment Using a Coupled Hydrological‐Socioeconomic Modeling Framework
We developed a coupled model that integrates human society and the environment to jointly simulate water supply and demand. The coupled framework improves the representation of river flow seasonality and yields more internally consistent estimates of global water stress exposure. By capturing regional reliance on groundwater and other non‐surface water
