Biodegradation of xanthan by newly isolated Cellulomonas sp LX, releasing elicitor-active xantho-oligosaccharides-induced phytoalexin synthesis in soybean cotyledons

open access: yes, 2005
A Cellulomonas sp. LX newly isolated from soil samples could degrade the extracellular polysaccharide (xanthan) of Xanthomonas campestris. Such degradation was inhibited by glucose addition.

Midnight siesta: Bimodal temporal activity observed in an endangered marsupial predator

open access: yesAustral Ecology, Volume 49, Issue 4, April 2024.
Understanding animal behavioural patterns can provide insight into how populations and communities are adapting to broader environmental shifts. Using time‐stamped camera trap imagery and fine‐scale accelerometer data, our study explores the diel activity patterns of northern quolls across their range in northern Australia. Contrary to the conventional
