Search for charged lepton flavour violation with the MEG and MEG II experiments

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
In the next decade Charged Lepton Flavour Violation (CLFV) experiments will play a key role in the search for new physics. Given that flavour oscillations occur among neutrinos, unmeasurably small amplitudes are expected for CLFV processes, while in many

Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...

Predicting Performance of Hall Effect Ion Source Using Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
This study introduces HallNN, a machine learning tool for predicting Hall effect ion source performance using a neural network ensemble trained on data generated from numerical simulations. HallNN provides faster and more accurate predictions than numerical methods and traditional scaling laws, making it valuable for designing and optimizing Hall ...

An investigation of nonlinear xenon oscillation by method of averaging [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Energy, 1973
Abstract A nonlinear analysis of xenon-temperature controlled nuclear reactor dynamics is presented. The set of equations in question belongs to a general class of rate equations with quadratic nonlinearities. Boundedness of the solutions is examined.

Heterovalent, Homometallic Rings: Synthesis, Optical, and EPR Studies of {TiIV7TiIII} Complexes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A new class of heterovalent, homometallic complexes is reported, based on cyclic {TiIV7TiIII} cores with oxide and carboxylate bridges between nearest neighbors. The clusters show Class II mixed‐valent behavior at room temperature, but are valence localized at low temperature.

Investigating the Electrochemical Double Layer with Quantum‐Chemical Simulations and Implicit Solvation Models

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
ESM‐RISM is applied to model electrochemical interfaces and benchmarked against Poisson–Boltzmann and molecular dynamics results. Density profiles, differential capacitance, and adsorption energetics at the gold–electrolyte interface are analyzed, highlighting the capabilities of this implicit electrolyte framework.
