Actinide valences in xenotime and monazite
Journal of Nuclear Materials, 2011Abstract Tetravalent U, Np and Pu can be substituted by ceramic methods into the rare earth site of xenotime and monazite in air atmospheres using Ca ions as charge compensators, while no evidence of penta- or hexavalent actinide ions was found. Some Pu3+ and Np3+ can be incorporated in xenotime samples fired in a reducing atmosphere.

Poly-metamorphism has been observed in many Precambrian metamorphic terranes. The metamorphic overprinting in the poly-metamorphic rocks makes it difficult to determine the timing and P − T path of each metamorphic event.

X-ray-excited optical luminescence imaging for on-site identification of xenotime
, 2021The on-site identification of rare-earth-element (REE) bearing minerals prior to off-site quantitative analysis helps to efficiently develop mines that reserve REEs.

Thermally stable red emitting xenotime phosphate nanophosphors for displays
, 2020The synthesis, structural and optical properties of the Ho3+/Tm3+/Yb3+ codoped xenotime YPO4 nanophosphors have been reported. The developed phosphors have been structurally characterized through XRD, FESEM, HRTEM, EDAX and FTIR analysis.

We provide new experimental data of monazite, xenotime and U-Th-bearing cheralite solubility in slightly peralkaline to peraluminous granitic melts using dissolution and reverse (i.e., recrystallisation after dissolution) experiments in water-saturated

Apatite, Monazite, and Xenotime in Metamorphic Rocks
Reviews in Mineralogy and Geochemistry, 2002This chapter focuses on phosphates that are significant in metamorphic rocks. A quick survey of phosphate mineral descriptions at a commercial mineral web-site revealed over 500 phosphate mineral names. Remarkably, only three are common in metamorphic rocks: apatite, monazite, and xenotime, and this chapter is restricted to discussion of these minerals.

Phase transformations in xenotime rare-earth orthophosphates
Acta Materialia, 2013Abstract Xenotime rare-earth orthophosphates were made with compositions close to the xenotime–monazite phase boundary. Stress-driven phase transformations and their associated deformation mechanisms were characterized for these compositions by extensive conventional and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy.

Flotation concentration of a xenotime pre-concentrate
Minerals Engineering, 1997Abstract The world market for rare-earths elements is increasing due to the development of new products and applications, resulting in the need for technology to treat deposits having highly complex mineralogy, such as that of Pitinga, AM, Brazil, with estimated reserves of 146,960 t of rare-earths oxides (REO), including Y2O3.
