Confronting hydrodynamic predictions with Xe-Xe data
Comparing collision systems of different size, at near the same collision energy, offers us the opportunity to probe the scaling behavior and therefore the nature of the system itself. Recently, we made predictions for Xe-Xe collisions at 5.44 TeV using viscous hydrodynamic simulations, noting that the scaling from the larger Pb-Pb system is rather ...

DataStream XES Extension: Embedding IoT Sensor Data into Extensible Event Stream Logs
The Internet of Things (IoT) has been shown to be very valuable for Business Process Management (BPM), for example, to better track and control process executions. While IoT actuators can automatically trigger actions, IoT sensors can monitor the changes

Ultrafast X-ray Spectroscopy of Haem Proteins
In this article we revisit our recent picosecond and femtosecond X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and X-ray emission spectroscopy (XES) experiments, probing the ultrafast electronic and geometric evolution of photoexcited haem proteins, namely ...

Isolatedness of characteristic points at blow-up for a semilinear wave equation in one space dimension [PDF]
We consider the semilinear wave equation with power nonlinearity in one space dimension. We consider an arbitrary blow-up solution $u(x,t)$, the graph $x\mapsto T(x)$ of its blow-up points and ${\cal S}\subset {\mathbb R}$ the set of all characteristic ...

Evaluating testing methods by delivered reliability [PDF]
There are two main goals in testing software: (1) to achieve adequate quality (debug testing), where the objective is to probe the software for defects so that these can be removed, and (2) to assess existing quality (operational testing), where the ...

Anisotropic flow in Xe–Xe collisions at sNN=5.44 TeV
The first measurements of anisotropic flow coefficients vn for mid-rapidity charged particles in Xe–Xe collisions at sNN=5.44 TeV are presented. Comparing these measurements to those from Pb–Pb collisions at sNN=5.02 TeV, v2 is found to be suppressed for mid-central collisions at the same centrality, and enhanced for central collisions.
