Validation of Xiphopenaeus dincao Carvalho-Batista, Terossi, Zara, Mantelatto & Costa and Xiphopenaeus baueri Carvalho-Batista, Terossi, Zara, Mantelatto & Costa (Decapoda: Penaeidae) from western Atlantic

Zootaxa, 2020
Two species of Penaeidae shrimp from western Atlantic were described by Carvalho-Batista et al. (2019) as Xiphopenaeus dincao and Xiphopenaeus baueri. The descriptions and figures presented by Carvalho-Batista et al. (2019) and the posterior author’s correction (Carvalho-Batista et al., 2020) characterize the species.

Cryptic species and population structuring of the Atlantic and Pacific seabob shrimp species, Xiphopenaeus kroyeri and Xiphopenaeus riveti

Marine Biology, 2006
Seabob shrimps of the genus Xiphopenaeus are important fishery resources along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of Central and South America. The genus was considered to comprise two species: the Atlantic Xiphopenaeus kroyeri (Heller, Sitzungsber Math Naturwiss cl kaiserliche Akad Wiss Wien 45:389–426, 1862), and the Pacific Xiphopenaeus riveti (Bouvier,

Oxygen Consumption and Ammonia Excretion During the Moulting Cycle in the Shrimp Xiphopenaeus kroyeri

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Molecular & Integrative Physiology, 1998
Abstract Xiphopenaeus kroyeri (Heller, 1862) is one of the main contributors to the benthic megafauna biomass in Sao Paulo State littoral coast (Brazil). Routine respiration ( R ) and ammonia–N excretion ( U ) rates, defined as those measured during minimum but uncontrolled activity, were quantified in different-sized shrimps at stages C/D 0 , A/B,

Exploring chitin morphologies in cuticle fragments of Xiphopenaeus kroyeri by atomic force microscopy

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2002
Abstract Shells of Xiphopenaeus kroyerishrimp were submitted to mild acid and alkaline treatments to produce α chitin films, which were characterised by infrared spectroscopy. Dynamic AC operational mode atomic force microscopy (AFM) was used to image the external surface and regions of an inner surface of the cuticle. All samples were scanned in air.

Population dynamics of the seabob shrimpXiphopenaeus kroyeri(Dendrobranchiata, Penaeidae) in south-eastern Brazil

African Journal of Marine Science, 2013
The population dynamics, including the sex ratio, reproductive period, individual growth and longevity, and population structure of the shrimp Xiphopenaeus kroyeri, are described. The shrimps were collected monthly from July 2005 to June 2007 at four sites in Ubatuba Bay, Brazil.
