An Evaluation Framework for XML Engine on RDBMS
2010 2nd International Workshop on Database Technology and Applications, 2010More and more vendors think of blending XML data management into traditional relational database, with the increasingly widespread use of XML. This requires a comprehensive evaluation methodology to evaluate the XML engine on a RDBMS correctly. Through analyzing XML engine on RDBMS from various aspects, the article gets a conclusion that the evaluation

Faceted navigation framework for XML data
International Journal of Web Information Systems, 2012PurposeXML has become a standard data format for many applications and efficient retrieval methods are required. Typically, there are roughly two kinds of retrieval methods, namely path‐based method (e.g. XPath and XQuery) and keyword search, but these methods do not work when users do not have any concrete information need.

A framework for BM25F-based XML retrieval
Proceedings of the 33rd international ACM SIGIR conference on Research and development in information retrieval, 2010We evaluate a framework for BM25F-based XML element retrieval. The framework gathers contextual information associated with each XML element into an associated field, which we call a characteristic field. The contents of the element and the contents of the characteristic field are then treated as distinct fields for BM25F weighting purposes.

XML in an adaptive framework for instrument control
2004 IEEE Aerospace Conference Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.04TH8720), 2004NASA Goddard Space Flight Center is developing an extensible framework for instrument command and control, known as instrument remote control (IRC) that combines the platform independent processing capabilities of Java with the power of the extensible markup language (XML).

XCQ : a framework for XML compression and querying
2014XML has already become the defacto standard for specifying and exchanging data on the Web. However, XML is by nature verbose and thus XML documents are usually large in size. The size problem of XML documents usually hinders their practical usage, since it substantially increases the costs of storing, processing and exchanging data.

An adaptive framework for searching XML documents
2014The evolution of computing technology suggests that it has become more feasible to offer access to Web information in a ubiquitous way, through various kinds of interaction devices such as PCs, laptops, palmtops, and so on. As XML has become a defacto standard for exchanging Web data, an interesting and practical research problem is the development of ...

An XML-Based Cross-Language Framework
2005We introduce XMLVM, a Turing complete XML-based programming language based on a stack-based, virtual machine. We show how XMLVM can automatically be created from Java class-files and .NET’s Intermediate Language. While the programmer is never directly exposed to XMLVM, we provide tools based on XMLVM for tasks such as cross-language functional testing ...
