Versatile and Highly Efficient MRI Simulation of Arbitrary Motion in KomaMRI

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 3, Page 1791-1803, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To extend the KomaMRI simulator with motion capabilities that enable the simulation of both simple, parametrizable motion patterns and arbitrarily complex spin trajectories. Additionally, we introduce a novel file format for storing and sharing dynamic digital phantoms.

Assessment of Vehicle Stability Processes Under Unsteady Flow Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Flood Risk Management, Volume 19, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The vehicle stability criteria are based on experimental and theoretical studies that do not account for the unsteady nature of floods. The rapid variation of depths and velocities in floods causes an additional hydrodynamic force in the direction of the flow, destabilising a vehicle that would otherwise be safe in steady flow conditions. This

Alternative Pathway for Methyl Supply through the Coupling of SHMT1 and PEMT to Maintain Astrocytic Homeostasis in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
In Parkinson's disease, SHMT1 downregulation disrupts its interaction with PEMT in astrocytes, reducing SAM levels. This leads to H3K4me1 hypomethylation and decreased Slc1a2/Glul expression, ultimately exacerbating neuroexcitotoxicity and dopaminergic neuron loss.

Scanner‐based real‐time automated volumetry reporting of the fetus, amniotic fluid, placenta, and umbilical cord for fetal MRI at 0.55T

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 2, Page 975-986, February 2026.
Abstract Purpose This work aims to enable real‐time automated intra‐uterine volumetric reporting and fetal weight estimation for fetal MRI, deployed directly on the scanner. Methods A multi‐region segmentation nnUNet was trained on 146 images of 73 fetal subjects (coronal and axial orientations) for the parcellation of the fetal head, fetal body ...

Towards Multiscale Archival Digital Data

open access: yesUmanistica Digitale, 2019
In this paper we would like to present some ideas on the use of the archival standards in various contexts that exemplify the complexity of such standards and provide users with innovative ways to handle EAD content.

Associating protein residues in the literature with structural data

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D, Volume 82, Issue 2, Page 113-125, February 2026.
A software tool is introduced for associating text mentions of protein residues with their respective residues in a protein structure, with display in a molecular viewer.Protein structures are crucial in understanding the function, mechanism and disease‐causing variants of proteins within any living cell.

Reviewing seas of data: Integrating image‐based bio‐logging and artificial intelligence to enhance marine conservation

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 2, Page 272-290, February 2026.
Abstract Conservation of marine ecosystems can be improved through a better understanding of ecosystem functioning, particularly the cryptic underwater behaviours and interactions of marine predators. Image‐based bio‐logging devices (including images, videos and active acoustic) are increasingly used to monitor wildlife movements, foraging behaviours ...
