Search for an Near-IR Counterpart to the Cas A X-ray Point Source [PDF]
We report deep near-infrared and optical observations of the X-ray point source in the Cassiopeia A supernova remnant, CXO J232327.9+584842. We have identified a J=21.4 +/- 0.3 mag and Ks=20.5 +/- 0.3 mag source within the 1-sigma error circle, but we ...

Determination of the Insulation Solution that Leads to Lower CO2 Emissions during the Construction Phase of a Building [PDF]
The characteristics of the envelope of a building determine, together with other factors, its consumption of energy. Additionally, the climate zone and insulation material may vary the minimum insulation thickness of walls and roofs, making it different,

Practical guides for x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy: Quantitative XPS
X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is widely used to identify chemical species at a surface through the observation of peak positions and peak shapes. It is less widely recognized that intensities in XPS spectra can also be used to obtain information

Low temperature atomic layer deposition of cobalt using dicobalt hexacarbonyl-1-heptyne as precursor
In this work, we present the development of an atomic layer deposition (ALD) process for metallic cobalt. The process operates at low temperatures using dicobalt hexacarbonyl-1-heptyne [Co2(CO)6HC≡CC5H11] and hydrogen plasma.

Electrochemical activation of molecular nitrogen at the Ir/YSZ interface. [PDF]
Nitrogen is often used as an inert background atmosphere in solid state studies of electrode and reaction kinetics, of solid state studies of transport phenomena, and in applications e.g. solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC), sensors and membranes.

Guide to XPS data analysis: Applying appropriate constraints to synthetic peaks in XPS peak fitting
Peak fitting of x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) data is the primary method for identifying and quantifying the chemical states of the atoms near the surface of a sample.
