Anoxygenic photosynthetic bacteria like Cereibacter azotoformans strain ORIO from Owens River (CA) contribute to light–dark redox cycling of arsenite and arsenate. Abstract A freshwater photosynthetic arsenite‐oxidizing bacterium, Cereibacter azotoformans strain ORIO, was isolated from Owens River, CA, USA.

Abstract Healthcare staff are encouraged to use feedback from their patients to inform service and quality improvement. Receiving patient feedback via online channels is a relatively new phenomenon that has rarely been conceptualised. Further, the implications of a wide, varied and unknown(able) audience being able to view and interact with online ...

Wanted: A name for a commonly used trigonometry function
Abstract Except in trivial cases, an unknown angle is always extracted from a knowledge of its sine and cosine. These two numbers determine the angle unambiguously; and yet no universally accepted notation expresses that angle as a function of those numbers in a single statement. Some authors use “atan2” for this purpose.

Abstract Cross‐national research is key to understanding the global presence of informal and non‐compliant workplaces. This article comparatively examines how informalisation encourages or inhibits collective action led by migrant workers employed in Italian logistics warehouses (LWs) and the British hand car washes (HCWs).

Summary To enable rapid selection of traits in marker‐assisted breeding, markers must be technically simple, low‐cost, high‐throughput and randomly distributed in a genome. We developed such a technology, designated as Multiplex Restriction Amplicon Sequencing (MRASeq), which reduces genome complexity by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of

Integration of multi-omics layers empowers precision diagnosis through unveiling pathogenic mechanisms on maple syrup urine disease. [PDF]
Abstract Maple syrup urine disease (MSUD) is a rare inherited metabolic disorder characterized by deficient activity of the branched‐chain alpha‐ketoacid dehydrogenase (BCKDH) complex, required to metabolize the amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine.

A webserver, titled ContaMiner, has been established, which allows fast molecular‐replacement‐based screening of crystallographic data against a database (ContaBase) of currently 62 potential contaminants. ContaMiner enables systematic screening of novel crystals at synchrotron beamlines, and it would be valuable as a routine safety check for ...

Solar Field Mapping and Dynamo Behavior
We discuss the importance of the Sun’s large‐scale magnetic field to the Sun‐Planetary environment. This paper narrows its focus down to the motion and evolution of the photospheric large‐scale magnetic field which affects many environments throughout this region. For this purpose we utilize a newly developed Netlogo cellular automata model. The domain

The vibrational relaxation mechanism of CH3F whose ν3 mode is excited by a transversely excited atmospheric (TEA)CO2 laser‐pulse has been discussed on the basis of observation of the laser‐induced fluorescence (LIF) of the ν3 overtones and of the C–H stretching modes and kinetic analyses.

ABSTRACT Introduction There is a growing, national need for properly trained dentists to provide special care dentistry to a transitioning, aging, and medically complex population. This study describes the implementation and initial impact of a novel academic‐community intervention designed to rapidly address this critical gap in provider training and ...
