La collezione di Xylocopini dell'Istituto di Entomologia agraria di Milano conta 27 esemplari, appartenenti a 3 subgeneri differenti: Afroxylocopa, Koptortosoma, Xylocopa. Dal confronto con la bibliografia ne deriva che tutte le segnalazioni italiane riferite a X. violacea e X. valga sono nuove tranne quelle relative a Milano ed all'Isola d'Elba.
