Application of α-adrenomimetic decongestants as chemical agents for gingival retraction [PDF]
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to observe, compare and evaluate the effect of two α-adrenomimetic decongestants which are clinically approved nasal and eye drops - 0,05% xylometazoline hydrochloride and 0,05% tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride, when ...

Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS) is a life‐threatening condition with increasing incidence and high mortality worldwide. It is characterised by hypotension and multiorgan failure, resultant of invasive group A Streptococcus (GAS) infections. Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) has been proposed as an adjunctive therapy that reduces mortality in ...

Topological indices are crucial in modeling of molecular structures of graphs and are also useful in correlation with physicochemical properties. In this paper, we propose the Euler Sombor coindex and Gourava Sombor coindex, and we derive bounds by using some graph invariants of a graph such as the degree of a vertex, the order, and the size of a graph.

Background Congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction (CNLDO) is a common cause of epiphora in children. Lacrimal intubation is often performed when probing fails, but the optimal approach remains debated. This study compared the outcomes of nasal endoscopy–guided and blind closed lacrimal intubation in pediatric patients with CNLDO.

Effects of Essential Oils in the Treatment of Acute Rhinosinusitis: A Systematic Review
ABSTRACT Objective Basic science studies have shown that essential oils have antibacterial and anti‐inflammatory effects in the nasal mucosa. However, clinical studies examining the effect of essential oils on patient outcomes are limited. The aim of this systematic review is to evaluate the patient outcomes following treatment of acute rhinosinusitis ...

Cocaine to prevent bleeding during nasotracheal intubation: A systematic review
Abstract Background Nasotracheal intubation is associated with a risk of epistaxis. Decongestion of the nasal mucosa reduces the risk of epistaxis, and different vasoconstrictors may be used. Cocaine has both decongestive and analgesic properties, but it also has side effects.
