Advanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2024.Inspired by the lignin yellowing phenomenon, a light‐induced method is developed to transform soda‐pulped lignin toward guaiacyl alcohol with high yield. Photoreaction between β‐O‐4 model compound (2‐PAP) and the photoinitiator (PAB) shed light on the possible pathways involving free radicals that promote depolymerization of soda lignin.
