Effect of Low-Level Er: YAG (2940 nm) laser irradiation on the photobiomodulation of mitogen-activated protein kinase cellular signaling pathway of rodent cementoblasts

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience-Landmark, 2022
Backgrounds: Dental avulsion due to trauma, especially in young patients, is a worldwide problem, requiring tooth replacement. Delayed replantation could cause tooth loss when the cementum is severely damaged.

Macular hole after Nd‐YAG laser capsulotomy with OCT findings

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, 2021
Patients with incomplete posterior vitreous detachment, especially with vitreomacular adhesion, can form a macular hole after Nd‐YAG laser capsulotomy. It is recommended to inform the risk of forming a macular hole before Nd‐YAG laser treatment.

Red Fluorescent Protein‐Metal Organic Framework Hybrids for Lighting Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate the encapsulation in a metal‐organic framework (MOF) of two red fluorescent proteins, DsRed and mCherry. The materials conserve all spectroscopical and structural properties of the underlying components, which allows for their implementation as color down‐converting materials in bio‐hybrid light‐emitting diodes, which exhibit average 3 ...

Assessment of Disinfection Potential of Q-Switch Nd: YAG Laser on Contaminated Titanium Implant Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Peri-implantitis (PI) is a relatively frequent pathology that compromises the overall survival of the dental implant. Adjunctive approaches for the conventional mechanical debridement are being suggested to optimize the treatment of PI.

Spatiotemporal Control of Formation of Dynamic Protein Fiber Assemblies via Photophysical Effects of a Focused Laser Beam

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tightly focused laser irradiation can accumulate tubulin proteins at/around the laser focus, which leads to the formation of highly ordered microtubule assemblies. The assemblies can exhibit various dynamic behaviors such as radial motion, bundling, and flagella‐like rotation with motor protein and chemical energy, highlighting as a unique tool for ...

Evalaution and optimization of laser cutting parameters for plywood materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Laser process parameters influence greatly the width of kerfs and quality of the cut edges. This article reports experiments on the laser plywood-cutting performance of a CW 1.5 kW CO2¬ Rofin laser, based on design of experiments (DOE).

Zn(C2H4NO2)2(SO2CH3NH2)2 and Zn(C2H4NO2)2[SO2(NH2)2]: Regulation of Unique ZnO(C2H4NO2)2 Units by Polar Tetrahedrons for Balanced UV Nonlinear Optical Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The modulation of polar tetrahedra enabled the synthesis of an outstanding short‐wave UV NLO crystal, Zn(C2H4NO2)2[SO2(NH2)2], which achieves a rare balance of a large bandgap (5.93 eV), high birefringence (Δn = 0.126 at 546 nm), and strong SHG response (1.36 × KDP), especially achieving excellent phase‐matching throughout the full transparency range ...

Disk laser delivering 50 mJ with 400 ns latency

open access: yes, 2011
A thin disk laser has been developed which is capable to run at stochastical trigger with an extremly short latency (400 ns) between the electronic trigger and the optical output pulse. The Yb:YAG laser made from a Qswitched oscillator and a multi-pass

Reverse Weak Polarity‐Induced Ordered Layer Control for Enhanced Second‐Harmonic Generation in Ultraviolet Nonlinear Optical Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Reverse Weak Polarity‐Induced Ordered Layer Control strategy, optimizing the design of layered structures, has been successfully designed. By leveraging inhomogeneous field of units to replace isotropic fields of metal cations, polar layers realize controllable layer stacking via a “layer→linker→layer” polarity transfer.
