Our integrative Mendelian randomization framework revealed that specific circulating metabolites exert causal effects on major depressive disorder, partly through immune‐cell–mediated pathways. ABSTRACT Acute epiglottitis is a life‐threatening emergency characterized by rapid airway obstruction and challenging airway management due to severe supraglottic edema. We report the case of a 22‐year‐old man who presented with acute epiglottitis complicated by extensive neck edema, inspiratory stridor, and progressive respiratory distress.

Gas Biopsy of Pleural Effusion to Diagnose Lung Cancer by Mass Spectrometry
HS‐SPME–GC–MS profiling of pleural effusion revealed distinct volatile metabolic features between lung cancer‐associated malignant pleural effusion and benign pleural effusion. Cross‐matrix integration with paired lung cancer tissues identified hexanal as the only shared differential VOC.
