Distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in sediments from Yellow River Estuary and Yangtze River Estuary, China [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Sciences, 2009
Surface sediment samples collected from twenty-one sites of Yellow River Estuary and Yangtze River Estuary were determined for sixteen priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) by isotope dilution GC-MS method. The total PAH contents varied from 10.8 to 252 ng/g in Yellow River Estuary sediment, and from 84.6 to 620 ng/g in Yangtze River Estuary

Spring Ichthyoplankton Assemblage Structure in the Yangtze Estuary Under Environmental Factors

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2021
Estuaries, where fresh and salty water converge, provide abundant nutrients for ichthyoplankton. Ichthyoplankton, including fish eggs, larvae, and juveniles, are important fishery recruitment resources.

THE BRANCHING CHANNEL NETWORK IN THE YANGTZE ESTUARY [PDF]

open access: yesCoastal Engineering Proceedings, 2012
The channels in the Yangtze Estuary have an ordered-branching structure: The estuary is first divided by the Chongming Island into the North Branch and the South Branch. Then the South Branch is divided into the North Channel and South Channel by the Islands Changxing and Hengsha.

Study on the Influence of Reservoir Dispatch of the Upper Yangtze River on the Runoff Control [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2021
The reservoir group focusing on the Three Georges reservoir has been established in the upper Yangtze River, with a total regulation capacity of 51.5 billion m3. The reservoir group dispatch plays an important role in regulating the runoff.

Remotely sensed mid-channel bar dynamics in downstream of the Three Gorges Dam, China [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The downstream reach of the Three Gorges Dam (TGD) along the Yangtze River (1560 km) hosts numerous mid-channel bars (MCBs). MCBs dynamics are crucial to the river’s hydrological processes and local ecological function.

Response of nearshore circulation outside Yangtze Estuary to El Niño events

open access: yesWater Science and Engineering, 2016
With consideration of the comprehensive effects of runoff from the Yangtze River, East China Sea background circulation, and tidal currents, a regional circulation model, including the Yangtze Estuary, Hangzhou Bay, and adjacent sea areas was established.
