Physical-mechanical properties of compact yarns and knitted fabrics
2006The physical-mechanical properties of 6 combed cotton yarns of nominal count of 20 tex were compared: 2 conventional, 4 compact spun using two different compact system. All yarns were spun from the same kind of cottons and with 2 levels of tex twist coefficient (3290 and 3480).

Physical properties of uas sheep wool and acrylic blended yarns
Indian Journal of Small Ruminants (The), 2017In order to enhance the optimum utilization and improve the properties of UAS (University of Agricultural Sciences) sheep fleece, it was blended with other synthetic fibres. The scoured and pre-carded UAS sheep fleece was blended with acrylic in the varied proportions viz., 70/30, 60/40 and 50/50 through sandwich/stack blending technique.

Effect of Liquid Ammonia on Cotton's Physical Properties and Yarn Processing
Textile Research Journal, 1976The intense competition from manmade textile fibers makes it imperative to explore promising approaches for improvements in processing efficiency of cotton at reduced cost. Application of liquid ammonia to cotton fibers for improvement in physical properties could provide a practical means of achieving this end.

Physical properties of Kevlar and Nomex plied and covered yarns
Textile Research Journal, 2012This article experimentally investigates various physical properties of Kevlar and Nomex plied yarns. The tensile properties of a yarn decide the performance of post spinning operations – warping, weaving and knitting – hence its accurate technical evaluation carries much importance in industrial applications.

Physical Properties of Fibers and Yarns of Partially Acety lated Cottons
Textile Research Journal, 1957Samples of cotton of Deltapine, Rowden, and Stoneville varieties were partially acetylated as bulk cotton and as untreated 14/3 yarns to acetyl contents ranging from 9 to 26%. Breaking loads and elongations at break of single fibers, fiber bundles, and yarns were decreased by the partial acetylation up to about 17%, but showed a tendency to increase ...

Physical properties of wool keratin yarn modified with dibasic acid anhydrides
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1990AbstractThe structure and physical properties of wool keratin yarns modified with dibasic acid anhydrides, namely, succinic and glutaric anhydride are analysed by thermomechanical analysis (TMA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetry (TG), and on the basis of measurements of the tensile properties.

Physical Properties of Textured Polyester Yarns: The Influence of Texturing Temperatures
Textile Research Journal, 1976The temperature dependence of textured yarn physical properties has been determined for five polyester feeder yarns textured on two texturing machines. The data show that there are important effects on physical properties of varying texturing temperature, but that the extent and type of the effects depends on the feeder yarn-texturing machine ...

STRENGTH AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF FINE GLASS FIBERS AND YARNS*
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1936A bstract Glass fibers have been produced in large quantities running from 0.0007‐ to 0.00005‐inch fiber diameter. The strength of individual fibers and the strength of yarns produced from these fibers have received preliminary investigation.
